About Us

ChildsplayDirect specialises in Playmobil, Sylvanian Families, Meccano, Brio, K'NEX®, and stocks a huge range of products. We are a mail order division of the Whitminster Trading Co. Ltd, based in Gloucestershire.

Delivery Charges

Postage and packaging is charged in 3 bands, based on total cost of items.

Band 1: For an order costing up to £9.99 the charge for postage and packaging is £1.95 (1st Class Royal Mail)

Band 2: For an order costing from £10.00 to £29.99 the charge for postage and packaging is £2.95 (1st Class Royal Mail)

Band 3: For an order costing £30.00 and above the charge for postage and packaging is £4.95 (Next Working Day Courier)

Shipping prices are for UK mainland deliveries.

Some areas are subject to additional delivery charges, for example the Scottish Highlands and Islands including the following postcodes:
(AB31, AB33-38, AB44-56, FK17-99, G83, IV1-28, IV30-32, IV33-39, IV40-51, IV52-56, IV63 KW all, PA21-33, PA34-40, PH18-26, PH30-42, PH49-50 HS1-9, KA27-28, PA20, PA34, PA41-49, PA60-78, PH42-44, ZE1-3). Also, Isle of Wight, Isle of Man, Northern Ireland, Scilly and Channel Islands.

Delivery Times

Orders placed before 2pm Monday – Friday will be dispatched the same day. All other orders will be dispatched the next working day. We use first class Royal Mail Post, and courier services, which all aim to provide next day deliveries. We will do our best to get your items to you as soon as possible. However, delays once the items are in the post are unfortunately beyond our control.

Payment method

It is quick, easy and secure to pay for your purchases online, using a credit or debit card. The cards we accept are VISA, Mastercard, Maestro, Solo and Electron. When asked to supply your card details, you will be moved into a secure area of the site, and the padlock symbol will appear at the bottom of your browser. We use 128 bit SSL encryption which means your information is extremely safe. If you prefer you may supply your card details over the telephone, or by fax, using our contact details set out below. You may also pay for your purchases by sending a cheque for the total amount to the postal address listed in our contact details below. However, this will take a little longer, as we will wait until your cheque has been received and funds cleared before dispatching your item. We will not charge for any item until it is ready to be dispatched.

Tax Charges

VAT at the current UK rate (20%) is included in our prices for all orders in the UK and European Union.

Returns Policy

In the unlikely event that when you receive your order it is damaged or faulty please contact us and we will arrange to have a replacement sent out to you. You will have to pay to return your original item, but we will refund your postage costs when we send the replacement. If for any reason you change your mind, you may return your item to us unopened, in its original packaging, within 7 days, and we will provide a full refund excluding postage costs.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998). We collect information about you for 2 reasons: Firstly to process your order/enquiry, and secondly to provide you with the best possible service. We may use the information to keep you informed of features, services, products, promotions, and special offers. We will not pass your information to any third parties without your consent. The type of information we will collect about you includes: Name, Address, Phone Number, Email Address, Credit/Debit card details. The information we hold will be accurate and up to date. You can check the information that we hold about you by emailing us. If you find any inaccuracies we will delete or correct them promptly. The personal information which we hold will be held securely, in accordance with our internal security policy and the law.
